Primitive forms of the trumpet (or brass instruments in general) have been used by humans for thousands of years. The earliest known trumpets have been dated at least as far back as the Neolithic era[3]. These trumpets were made from either animal horns or conch (sea) shells. These instruments were used for various occasions such as religious rituals, hunting signals, war signals and various celebratory occasions[4]. Many modern cultures still use these instruments for various ceremonies and special occasions.
